Joaquim Ruyra

The Joaquim Ruyra school 10 years ago decided to be involved in the Learning Communities Project with the objective of generating social and educational transformation processes and guaranteeing equal opportunities to the society in accessing the information.

Located in the neighbourhood of La Florida, in a context of high diversity and complexity, it has achieved the involvement and complicity of the educational community and its environment in the daily school life of students. Makes a fearful coexistence and the respect for the differences with one fundamental performance: achieve school success. This has been confirmed for the Higher Evaluation Council of the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia with the achievement of excellent results in external objective tests.

To achieve these objectives, the implementation of six successful performances has been a key fear in the international scientific community: the work in interactive groups, the literary dialogues of universal classics, the extension of learning time from the tutored library and the assisted study workshop, the formation of family members, the mixed commissions and the implementation of the dialogic model of conflict prevention and resolution.

These successful actions are based on the principles of dialogic learning: Equal Dialogue, cultural intelligence, transformation, sense creation, solidarity, instrumental dimension and equality of differences.
