Escola Riera de Ribes
Riera de Ribes School is a public school, Catalan, rooted and committed to the natural and social environment. We attribute to education a shared social function, each one from the place it occupies, directed towards the personal development of all members of the educational community, mainly girls and boys, for the thoughtful and critical understanding and participation of reality, and favor of the dignity of everyone. A school in constant process of reflection to achieve education of quality, which is based on seven ideas:
– a people-centred school;
– in the integration of the knowledge that make up the curriculum;
– that generates culturally rich and complex personal and community contexts;
– which takes into account the ideas of children as the basis of work;
– focused on communication;
– who is interested in improvement and
– that belongs to a community.
The educational model of the Riera de Ribes School proposes to teach and learn from the logic of people’s functioning, how they solve life’s challenges using knowledge as a tool to understand and solve real-world situations. Thus, the learnings are of a higher quality, they are improved: the educational results and social cohesion. An institution where you learn more and better because it puts the emphasis on the value of each one, on the improvement of the talent of each one – students, professionals and families – and improves the common project.
Currently, our action framework promotes:
- Intervention in different contexts where everyone can recognize their own ability to learn.
- Construction of networks of relationship, collaboration and exchange between inside and outside the school.
- Willing of improving in the different areas that shape the culture of the school from the value of each one and the roles that can be developed.
- Resolution of real-world situations with the intention of reflecting on the knowledge and the same process of learning from diversified cognitive itineraries taking into account the interests, processes and rhythms of each one.
