GETTING TO BARCELONA
Barcelona Airport
The Barcelona El Prat Airport is located southwest of Barcelona, 6 metres above sea level, and between the towns of El Prat de Llobregat, Viladecans and Sant Boi. It is the second largest international airport in Spain, after the International Airport of Madrid-Barajas. The airport has two terminal buildings: T1 and T2. The airport follows the criteria of terminal use by companies, irrespective of which is the destination of the flight.
El Prat receives national and international flights. There are metro, taxis and buses that connect the airport with the city. More information on transport links between the airport and Barcelona.
Train | High Speed Train (AVE)
The main railway station of the city is Barcelona Sants. At this station trains arrive from different parts of Spain and some European lines. The high speed train (AVE) links the cities of Madrid Puerta de Atocha, Zaragoza Delicias, Lleida, Tarragona and Barcelona Sants.
GETTING AROUND BARCELONA
Barcelona has eight metro lines that can be identified by the number and colour of the line and serve most of the city. It also has an urban and metropolitan rail network, the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC), which supplements Barcelona’s metro network. There are three urban lines: L6, L7 and L8.

The metro operates an integrated fare system enabling passengers to obtain a free transfer from one means of public transport to another within a period of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Additionally, there are different types of travel cards and transport passes in Barcelona that are valid throughout the public transport network (metro, buses, tram and suburban rail). Options include the T-10 card which is valid for 10 journeys, or day passes (2-5 days).The Tram routes provide easy access to Barcelona’s major industrial areas, shopping centres and residential zones.

For the most updated information regarding Visa requirements, we suggest that participants consult the Spanish embassy or consulate in their home country or via a travel agency for specific details. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required.

Participants requiring a formal letter of invitation to enable them to make their arrangements to participate in the Symposium should contact the organization of the Symposium via email to educacio2020@bcocongresos.com. Please make sure to send us your full name (as printed in your passport), full postal address and passport number.
An official invitation letter will be issued and sent to you by email within 5-7 working days. Please note that this letter cannot be regarded as a commitment regarding scheduling or financial support from the organizers.
